A one hour drive (of which you will travel on dirt roads the last 20 minutes) from the hectic Natal lies the fishing village of Tibau do Sul.
1. To do and see in Tibau do Sul
At first glance, it seems like there’s not much to do. The village only has a few streets and the occasional restaurant, all situated around a fairly uninspiring village square. The beauty of Tibau do Sul lies in the breathtaking little bays and endless beaches, which you essentially have to yourself in the low season. They are considered to be among the most beautiful in Brazil.
Do you feel like doing something fun? The adjacent surf school offers lessons and you can rent a surfboard there.
2. Eat and drink
With agua de coco and grilled fish on the menu, and Bob Marley playing through the speakers, you have all the ingredients for a relaxed day at the beach. Ponta and Restaurante Do Pirambu are located on the right side of the beach towards Pipa.
Natural Brasil offers a menu with fresh local products such as the famous carne de sol, the extremely healthy açaí, and tofu for vegetarians. In addition to offering a bite to eat, it offers an assortment of artistic trinkets.
